爱尔兰诗人 William Butler Yeats。
终其一生爱着一个叫做荣德·冈的女子而并没有得到任何结果。
他的诗歌里，多处运用带有浓烈个人色彩的意象。

诸如swan象征着人的灵魂层面。
moon象征着想象力的光芒。
sun象征着平凡的尘世生活。
grass象征着与荣德·冈有关的记忆。

字字句句，流露爱情。
那时对这个诗人是有厌倦的。
直到读到他的这一句话：今天，我突然有一个想法，荣德·冈从没有真正理解过我的打算，我的性格，我的想法。那又怎样呢？我一直在努力地把我自己展示给她，让她了解我。如果她真的了解我了，我也就不再有写诗的理由了。

叶芝曾经在That the night comes里面这样形容她心爱的女子：

很少有诗人把猫和月的题材写到这样直指人心。尤其读到最后两行，心有惊动。
